The Operations Associate is responsible for executing day to day operational tasks with special focus on management of logistics and inventory responsibilities to support sales team, warehousing, and other general operational activities. The individual will own and maintain the workflow of the auction sales process by managing the individuals and groups to achieve the established goals. This position will have basic understanding of warehousing, project management, and logistics best practices.
Responsibilities
  • Act as a liaison between director of operations and all warehouse operations to ensure proper communication and directions to define, develop, and execute strategic initiatives in the areas of warehousing, inventory management, and logistics
  • Oversee and assist warehouse managers with inventory reconciliations and audits through strict Inventory Management System (IMS) management
  • Develop and/or enhance warehouse operations training programs
  • Control and advise on warehouse inventory space with focus on cleanliness, safety, OSHA compliance, and regulations
  • Work closely with director of operations and trucking companies and brokers to streamline the process of arranging for shipments from customers to be delivered to our warehouses
  • Maintain logistics pipeline by properly assigning values, dates, carriers, and other pertinent information to all pick-ups
  • Manage in-house drivers and 3rd party trucking and brokerage companies including qualification, selection, and performance evaluation to identify opportunities for customer service improvement and cost reduction
  • Maintain and interpret all available reports to enhance logistics operations and track supply chain related key performance indicators
  • Provide world class service to our customers and partners
  • Report all logistics details by using CRM, inventory reports and/or consignment/purchase orders back to sales team and customers prior to the auction sales to attain maximum customer satisfaction and transparency
  • Travel may be required based on the need of the business
  • All other duties as assigned
  • Leadership: Provide clear direction to ensure collective achievement of goals and objectives. Create an environment of respect, collaboration, and open communication.
  • Associate Development: Identify and support development needs of direct reports and team members including connecting them to resources both internally and externally to ensure a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Associate Engagement: Create high levels of employee engagement by understanding organizational and personal drivers that impact drivers and developing action plans that deliver increased engagement.
  • Performance Management: Set clear goals and expectations for teams, monitor, and enable performance and intervene with appropriate action when performance gaps occur and provide timely, honest feedback. Ensure that associates complete assigned actions by required deadlines.
Skills and Experience
  • Basic knowledge of business operations, preferably within medical equipment sales or distribution.
  • Overcomes obstacles to cooperation and fosters harmonious relationships by creatively and strategically leading mediation and negotiation among individuals and groups, internally and externally.
  • Strategically collaborates and effectively works with customers and cross functional teams across the organization to obtain buy-in and consensus.
  • Strategic and analytic thinker who prioritizes and manages their time, while managing multiple competing priorities with concurrent and competing deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must, with a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex matters in an efficient and accurate manner, turning strategic thoughts into actionable plans.
  • Experience in building, mentoring, and coaching a team.
  • Participates or leads in negotiation and reconciliation processes.
  • Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions or approaches to problems.
  • Manages material resources by obtaining and appropriately using equipment, facilities, and materials.
  • Maintains customer service orientation by actively looking for ways to help customers and co-workers.
  • Understands the workflow, maintaining a focus on details while keeping track of the big picture.
  • Excellent computer skills; proficient using Microsoft Office suite and CRM tools.
Education and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 3+ years of professional experience in inventory, logistics and personnel management.
  • 3+ year warehouse experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical equipment is a preferred
  • Desire to work in fast-paced environment with ability to flexibly adjust to changing needs of the business.
  • Ability to effectively delegate, follow-up and communicate with all levels of the company.
